Mu5, it says the rate is 23.7% including RROD and 11.7% if you don't include RROD. MS underwrites the cost of the RROD units. Keep in mind these numbers are just for the consoles covered by Square Trade, no one is saying the 360 failure rate is only 10% wtf is wrong with you people.

was a Microsoft style move, it was well executed, at just the right time and price, and it is what people wanted, for once Sony is giving us a product we actually wanted. Sales will be huge.
However, having said that, MS will not sit idle, they will likely lower the price of the 360 that people actually want, not just the arcade. This will spur 360 sales, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have something else up their sleeves as well.

@guitard, why pay more for a console that has inferior or equal performance at best, MOST games are multiplatform, a better argument would be that you're an idiot for buying a console just for the few exclusives, in this case since PS3 has so few things it does better than 360, the few exclusives your paying more money for just aren't worth it. If pay over 200 bucks on a console I want the best performance I can get.

Darker monitor? Not likely, why would they set up a side by side and not take the monitors into account. The monitors were most likely identical in every way and setting, the PS3 version is just washed out as the PS3 version is in most multiplaform games. Does 1up think we are all stupid? Well never, mind most of you bought that garbage so maybe they're right in thinking that.

Sony does not have alot of extra cash right now, advertising is expensive, also Sony never had to advertise all that much with PS2, so why should they spend the cash now. The reality is 360 is the IN console this gen, MS does not advertise as much as everyone thinks either, but they own the USA and are ahead in EU, UK, and down under.

everyone knows this is also coming to 360, well, most gamers know I should say. They were going back and forth on that for a while, now its coming to 360 and PC.
